Movie Summary: Sydney Carton a lazy lawyer with a fondness for strong drink falls in love with Lucie Manette. Unfortunately for him shes in love with and marries the charming Frenchman Charles Darnay. During the French Revolution Charles becomes the target of Madame Defarge who swore an oath to exterminate the aristocratic Evremonde family as revenge for the deaths of her family by the Marquis de Evremonde. As the Marquis's cousin Charles and Lucie must die. When the tribunal sentences Charles to death Sydney launches a daring plan to save him from the guillotine. If the plan succeeds it will mean Charles's release and Sydney's redemption.
