Movies for Family Fun Month!

It’s Family Fun Month! Do you have some fun family plans for the last few weeks of summer? Why not pop some popcorn and curl up together with some great, classic family movies? Here are some of our favorites:

The Princess Bride
This is not just a movie for girls, even though the title sounds like it. It has everything – action, adventure, drama, comedy, and true love! Peter Falk is amazing as the grandfather reading the book to his son. We have watched it over and over and never tire of it. (Please use your own discretion, it does contain violence).

My Side of the Mountain
Live vicariously through young Sam Gribley as he leaves home to go live alone in the wilderness.

Charlotte’s Web (2006)
This movie brings the book to life beautifully. A terrific performance by a young Dakota Fanning.

Ever After
This is the story of Cinderella, beautifully done, and wonderfully portrayed by Drew Barrymore. Suitable for the whole family, it’s a joy to watch.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
You’ve probably read the book by C.S. Lewis, and this movie is a wonderful adaptation! Other books made into movies from the Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Prince Caspian.

Star Wars
We love the entire series of Star Wars movies, but especially the original trilogy: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. The Star Wars saga depicts the classic struggle between good and evil, in space. (Please use your own discretion, it does contain violence, and Revenge of the Sith is especially graphic).
